The Science of Scrummaging

On Sunday, I truly learnt how to scrum.
You bend your legs, akin to compressing a spring (potential energy).
Then u engage, i.e release the spring (kinetic energy).

KAPOW!!! That's some power for you.
Try it.
But friends pls enter the correct hole. You must see where you are going so always look forward oright!!

Now some of us might then wonder... Isn't Potential energy (PE) related to a person's size? In fact, in school, we learnt:
PE=mgh
where
PE = Energy (in Joules)
m = mass (in kilograms)
g = gravitational acceleration of the earth (9.8 m/sec2)
h = height above earth's surface (in meters)
So is it having the fatter and taller people in your team means you will win the scrum?

year end trip to perth

*hurrah*

our year end trip to perth for contact/touch might still be on so it could mean that we should start fund-raising soon. this translates to us in dire need of ideas of fund-raising, both conventional and unconventional.

e.g:
conventional: car-wash
unconventional: we'll get the touch girls to do it in skimpy bikinis so we can charge more $$. (bwaahah)

ok, so let's toss a few ideas around and see how it all turns out.

making singapore safe and secure for everyone

Following the hot pursuit by slugyi, perenakan mama and one of our adolescent TJ touch fledglings of a handphone nicking suspect on 6 March 2005 at approx 1545hrs across the shrewsbury housing estate, eight lanes of the Central Expressway (CTE, umm yes.. just like in those action movies) to moulmein road, meet our all new ecomony-size, water-proof, anti-theft system (kind compliments of kiam kia, whom this author understands endured the twelve o'clock sun to venture to the godforsaken industrial park where these babies were purchased).

Constructed of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic - HDPE (wall) polypropylene, each of these light weight Toyogo bins comes with six rotating wheels for easy manouvering and handles which lock the lids deterring any schemes of quick access to the contents therein.

Standing at approx 0.8m tall each Toyogo bin fits almost half of one oversized, inflexible rugby player (see subject on left) and promises to house at least 14 reasonably sized back packs (*sans boot bags as tested on 20 March 2005).

Remember, low crime does not mean NO crime.

(and will all of you stop this testing testing business already. tsk.)

testing testing 123

testing testing 123

For starters...I know nuts.

For everyone else who (like me) still can't get a hang of who's what and what's where on the field. Guaranteed to cure all ailments caused by Gene's sudden ability to speak fluent swahili during classroom sessions.

Behold. My idiot's guide to 15s positioning.

Pardon my dots. I tried my best- but the defending wing refused to look smaller than its props. But details details...
